It’s been a long time coming (we know!) but we’re pleased to be able to announce version 2 of our popular Optus Usage Widget. Most importantly, this latest version fixes the issue that arose out of Optus’ change to their customer portal authentication method. Although it’s taken us longer to implement this solution than we anticipated, we hope that you will find the widget useful.
In order to streamline our development process, the widget now uses the same code base as our iPhone usage application and with it, this adds support for a wide range of Optus plans that were previously unavailable.
We are always interested to hear your feedback so please feel free to drop us a line from the Support page.

well a suprisingly great tool
Fabulous! Widget is working in getting network usage stats for me! However… I think I have discovered a problem: the widget no longer works in Tiger (10.4.11) — it doesn’t appear to log in, and the console shows the following errors:
2009-05-03 01:32:38.398 DashboardClient[210] /SourceCache/JavaScriptCoreForDashboard/JavaScriptCoreForDashboard-419.2.2/bindings/objc/WebScriptObject.mm:211:[210] JavaScript exception: Can’t find variable: ISPUsageWKPlugin
(event handler):Can’t find variable: ISPUsageWKPlugin
2009-05-03 01:32:53.082 DashboardClient[210] (com.lemonjar.optususage) file:///Users/tonza/Library/Widgets/OptusUsage.wdgt/OUW.js: Can’t find variable: ISPUsageWKPlugin (line: 35)
(event handler):Can’t find variable: ISPUsageWKPlugin
So I gather that for now, v2.0 of this widget only works on Leopard (10.5.6).
Oh, well… my loss.

Hooray! This sleek, concise widget is a real help. Thanks for 2.0!
v2.0 works great but I noticed the very first time i run dashboard after switching on my mac that it does not automatically retrieve my usage stats automatically. my login details are already stored. every time i want to get an update i have to click the info (i) icon at the bottom corner to switch to the login window and then (without having to re-enter my credentials) i click done. then it will retrieve my stats. i think the previous version would auto-collect the usage stats as soon as you launch dashboard regardless if it is the first time after switching on the mac or the second, third, etc. fabulous app :) i already bought the iphone version. thanks.
I love you guys.
What tonza said, doesn’t work in 10.4.11. :(
I’ve been looking forward to this update. Thank you for what is still a really useful tool, especially if you need to keep a frequent eye on a low data account.
Top stuff, thank you greatly!
A PPC/tiger version would be great. Thank you.
Sorry guys, no plans for a 10.4 compatible version due to API we require not being available on the earlier version of Mac OS X.
Optus Widget alerts there’s an update available, but it seems this is not the case?
Any plans on windows 7 gadget being developed or is this apple only…?
Awesome just found out you guys released this update now (a bit late I know :)) just wanted to say thanks! I shot through a small donation too, money well spent!
hey guys…i just downloaded the zip file. im a a noob to computers and have no idea what to do with all these files after I extracted it with winrar. can someone plz help
Have Optus changed something again? I’m getting a red ‘Error: Connection Failed’ message…
To answer my own question, read in the Optus client area that they have indeed changed something which has (intentionally) cutoff access to a lot of third party apps…
I love you guys, this is exactly what I need. Thanks for putting in the hard effort for something which is freeware. I appreciate your hard work =D
Thanks!
Thanks,
i just downloaded this widget for my mac and it has been great!
Infrequent you can see good theme for WordPress. There are enough nice themes, but very complicated to set up. I installed last versions of Designora, Businezz, Secret Garden 2, DesignPile, also I have tried also Heatmap – simple, but optimized for adsense. Infrequent we can find something simple but rich in settings.
